March report from the President

Fellow Members,

Spring has arrived and hopefully we are through the last of the challenging weather events.

On the labor front, we continue to see challenges throughout most of our bargaining units. Entire industries are evolving at a rapid pace and keeping our Unions Reps on their toes. Now is the time we need to stand together collectively and mobilize.

We are currently one year from the CenturyLink contract expiration. Our District has been developing the mobilization and bargaining plan for 2020. District 7 has already secured funding and we are ready to kickoff the count down. It is time to get ready. With 26 paydays remaining you still have time to start saving for a personal strike fund.

In the next few months we will identify and train the State and Local mobilizers. They will engage our Local Activists to build-out our mobilization network and strengthen our collective resolve. Active involvement by each and everyone of you is critical to our success at the bargaining table.

At the end of March, I will be attending the District 7 conference in Minneapolis. The Legacy Qwest Delegates will interview and elect our Bargaining Committee that will represent us in 2020. If you have questions or concerns that you want address at this meeting please let me know.

Our next General Membership meeting will be April 18th. I hope to see you all there.

In Solidarity,

David Hyde
